After working 28 months 24/7 on biodiversity, I understand where many people are blocked.
It's the first step.
It might not be clear for folks working in our field for a long time, but Biodiversity loss is quite a daunting and massive challenge.
It can easily feel overwhelming at the start.
So, if you don't know where to start tackling this global challenge, I recommend you start locally.
It will allow you to:
meet like-minded
narrow your focus
create a to-do list
best of all, you will see the positive changes with your own eyes, right in your backyard
But where to start?
π Simply go on the 1% for the Planet map. It will show you nature NGOs close by, which you can then contact to lend a helping hand.
It will also allow you to filter based on your interests, like ocean, pollution, food, etc.
And they also have a map of local businesses that care. Those are the businesses that give 1% of their sales to nature. So if you need to buy something, you can look into supporting them.
π Bonus Tips for ecopreneurs π
Join 1% for the Planet to either get additional donations or commit 1% of your sales to nature (makes you more legit)
The map is perfect to find potential collaboration partners
Great tool to get leads for your sales outreach campaigns
Building a wilder world can seem overwhelming.
So just start with taking the first step right in front of your door.
Have a wild weekend!
Best,
Oli
